Painting Russian Dolls 3
Hand Painted Russian Dolls: Sam. Vivien Blackburn
Ok, that's one Christmas present nearly done :>) I've finished making the Russian Doll of Sam so the family is complete.

I decided to skip the next size down as it was too big in proportion. The next one down from that looked just right.
Other than these I'm totally unprepared for Christmas and have barely given it a thought!
Someone wrote that they had put their tree up already - eeek! - I never put mine up until a week before Christmas. When the kids were young it was 2 weeks before. Do you put your Christmas tree up early or late?

And what a special and personal gift for your family.
Your Russian dolls are beautiful. I'm sure your family will be delighted.
Christmas (cringe) I'm not ready. My husband loves to put everything up the first week of December but I prefer spreading things out.
This year, many of our gifts will be joint theater or museum tickets. Less shopping and fun.
I gave up on a special Xmas tree some six years ago, but I have a grapefruit tree in the window bay that I now dress a few days before Xmas Day. I grew the tree from a pip I found on the office floor over thirty years ago and this year, for the first time ever, it's decided to enter into the Yuletide spirit by producing some heavenly scented blossom. I'm thrilled.
What a charming idea, so lovingly realized.
Christmas. Bah humbug. :) I like Christmas Eve, the rest you can take away. My Christmas tree goes up usually two weeks before Christmas, but as a child it always went up on Christmas Eve. And yes, I know some people who have them up already. It scares me a lot...
theatre tickets are a great present - I saw Cats and Miss Saigon in London as Christmas presents from the daughter who is second doll - fabulous and unforgettable - oh and Torville and Dean as well.
Well done Harry! I've grown orange and lemon pips over the years and after 2 or 3 years they suddenly up and die on me :>( The leaves smell so nice.
again - thanks for the vote of confidence :>)
They're adorable!

And I think Melanie's hit on a lovely idea!
Our tree? Hmmm...depends how wacky Geiger is when I get it out. She's a demon with bits of paper so...
ah - that's probably what I did wrong then - I did water my little citrus pips with tap water - I feel guilty now for slowly killing them!
I like Melanies idea as well :>)
previous cats used to leave shattered baubles to be picked up every morning after a night of fun and games - and had to be fished out of the branches but current ones aren't so into it.
